I'm sharing my personal story of being laid off, along with 199 other Ericsson employees. It's an anxiety-inducing experience, but I want to take you through what happened and how I'm dealing with it. From receiving the dreaded email to the long wait for that meeting, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. But through it all, I’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support from my network of technologists—thank you all so much.
This is my second layoff experience, and just like the first time, the uncertainty and waiting were the hardest parts. I’ll talk about the reality of being laid off in corporate America, the kind support from my colleagues, and how I plan to move forward. I’ve already posted my open-for-work status on LinkedIn and learned a valuable lesson: revenge-job-hunting isn’t the answer. If you’re in the same boat as me, remember: stay positive, use your network, and take this as a new opportunity. I’ll be chronicling my job search journey, so stay tuned for more updates. Thanks for watching and for all your kind words. We’ll see each other on a screen somewhere soon. Aloha!
